MAYOR MARY MENDOZA CONCERNED WITH REPORTED BORDER PATROL ACTIVITY
SAN FERNANDO, CA – Yesterday morning, I learned that Border Patrol agents conducted an operation in the City at the Home Depot/Target Shopping Center. I am deeply concerned with the information and video footage circulating about yesterday’s operation. Our residents deserve to feel safe and secure in their homes, businesses, and neighborhoods.
SFPD has reached out to federal authorities to express their concern and get a better understanding of the nature and scope of this operation and its impact on our community. City staff is actively working to gather validated information and ensure that the public remains informed as facts are confirmed.
Our City stands united in compassion and respect for all members of our community. During this difficult time, I encourage anyone affected by this event or other recent immigration-related events to contact the Business and Community Resource Center (BCRC) at (818) 898-1210 or by emailing resources@SanFernando.gov for help through the San Fernando Together program.
Together, we will continue to uphold the resilience that defines the City of San Fernando.
