Statement from San Fernando Police Chief Fabian Valdez:
On the morning of June 19, 2025, the San Fernando Police Department (SFPD) were informed of two separate immigration-related operations within the City of San Fernando. In accordance with Department policy and consistent with the California Values Act (SB 54), the San Fernando Police Department did not plan, participate in, or provide assistance for these operations.
SFPD remains steadfast in its commitment to serving and protecting all members of our community, in full compliance with applicable laws and established policy. We would like to remind the public that San Fernando Police Officers wear dark blue uniforms with clearly visible and distinct SFPD shoulder patches. If you have an interaction with a law enforcement officer and are uncertain of their affiliation, we encourage you to ask for their name and the agency they represent, as the City 's officers are required to provide their name and identification number upon request.
SFPD proudly operates with integrity, accountability, and transparency, and we remain dedicated to upholding the trust placed in us by the community we serve.
