Information Technology Division

The Information Technology Division consists of two major areas of focus: IT Operations & Security and Helpdesk Services which are managed by the City's IT Systems Administrator. A heavy focus on communication both internally and externally serves as the backbone to providing effective services and implementing appropriate technologies. Our helpdesk services are the face of the division and receive direct feedback from users. This feedback is critical in determining if services are running correctly and assessing future needs. IT Operations are critical to the delivery of any modern business service and must be appropriately planned, implemented, and managed to be effective.

Some of our internal IT Services encompass:

  • Cybersecurity
  • IT Project Management
  • Technology Procurement and Vendor Management
  • IT Policy, Governance and Compliance (including California Public Records Act, California Justice Information Services, PCI DSS, as well as others)
  • Hardware/Software Maintenance and Management
  • Technology Adoption and Training

The Information Technology Division strives to be a strategic partner across all City Departments, and align with all City Council priorities, business objectives and workplans, as well as to create a resilient and modern technology infrastructure capable of delivering City services effectively to constituents, internal staff, and external stakeholders. The City's IT Staff aims to deliver customer-friendly support that facilitates both the adoption and consumption of technology services. The City partners with an IT Managed Services Provider through a competitively procured professional services agreement for majority of its internal IT Services.
